New Preaching Series

Dear Northside

It was wonderful reflecting on 4 mothers from the Bible who made a difference in the lives of their children by protecting, instructing, supporting and loving them. It was wonderful celebrating mothers and grandmothers here at Northside, and seeing that every lady can be a mother in the Northside family. Mothers are needed by us and the world. Let’s make sure we don’t only celebrate and acknowledge them once a year. Every day should be Mother’s Day.

Today we start our new preaching series for the 2nd term. Pastor Vere and I are taking 10 sermons from the Book of Acts and preaching 10 sermons from them. Please pray for us. That God would speak to us first and give us His Words for His people/church here at Northside. May each one of us and all our ministries Make Him Known!

We start today with Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost. Did you know that this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday? 50 days after Passover. Today we celebrate the exaltation of Jesus to the right hand of God and the pouring out of God’s Holy Spirit on all who call on the name of the Lord. Today we celebrate the start of the church. The church is a gift that God has given to us to be an active part of. Are you an active part of the God’s church here at Northside, an active and contributing part of the Northside family?

What does the church mean to you? Let us know your answers…

Next Sunday is the day after Africa Day. We are encouraging you all to come dressed in African attire to fit in with the African décor that is being planned. We are Africans. God has planted us here in Africa. We love being Africans.

We are starting the SHAPE Course on Sunday 2nd June. Please register with the church office if you wish to attend, so we can organise the materials. You have been uniquely shaped by God for ministry in His church. What is your SHAPE? Come and find out who God has made you to be. Then, we can start looking at what God may be asking you to do for Him. When you are in the right ministry, you will be fruitful and fulfilled.

The sermons in Acts all communicate the Gospel and call us all to tell others about it. So here is an acronym to help us remember the GOSPEL:

  • God created us to be with Him.
  • Our sins separate us from God.
  • Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.
  • Paying the price of sin, Jesus died and rose again.
  • Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life.
  • Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.

Who are you going to speak to this week about the Gospel, about Jesus?

Making Him Known! Pastor Gary
