A Busy Week

Dear Northside

Thank you to everyone who supported the Taste of the Nations last Saturday. We had a large number of people in attendance, and it was very encouraging to see so many young people and children present as well. The range and variety of food improves every year and thank you to everyone who brought food to share. We all ate a lot and there was still food left over. We sure did need the dancing at the end with Body & Soul to counter the affects of all that food. And the atmosphere was so warm and fellowship sweet. Truly a foretaste of heaven. The article in the Suburban newspaper was amazing and I believe we “made God known” through our Taste of the Nations this year. We proclaimed the love of God for everyone, and we experienced it on the day.

And then we had our Orange Day Service on Sunday. Well done to everyone for coming in orange. We sure did turn the service orange. And a huge thank you to the décor team, Eve, Rudo and the church staff for the décor. It was good to recognise afresh that KidzCan started as a ministry here at Northside with an ordinary, and even unlikely, ministry head. Look what God has done with what Andrea offered to God. It was good to celebrate all that KidzCan has done and continues to do and its growth, which includes the Rainbow Children’s Village – a game changer in the treatment of cancer in Zimbabwe. If you want to receive the KidzCan annual report and if you would like to visit RCV, please contact the church office. We raised just short of USD1000 for KidzCan last Sunday. I think that might be a record for us – Makorokoto!

This Sunday we have a baptism service. This is so exciting for us as a church. And we know that heaven is also very excited. We have had a great time with the people being baptised in the 3 classes we have had with them, learning from God’s Word what baptism is all about and why we are called to be baptised. Please pray for the people being baptised!

And then our focus will turn towards Easter. Not as exciting as Christmas, but for us who believe, Easter is the most important time of the year for us. As we remember and celebrate Passover, Good Friday and Easter Resurrection Sunday. Please watch out for the adverts and be a part of all we have planned. We believe that this will help us all to prepare our hearts and minds to remember all that God has done for us in and through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and apply this knowledge to our daily lives. As we approach Easter, please help us “make Jesus known”. Invite family, friends, colleagues to our Easter program. Us this time to tell people your testimony and what Jesus means to you.

Please done forget the Membership classes that start next Sunday and the church AGM on Sunday 24th March.

May mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance as you make Him known. Pastor Gary
