Dear Northside
Goodbye June, hello July. Wow, where is this year going?
This July we have our Men’s Symposium on Discipleship on the 20th (please note the new date). As noted yesterday this is being organised by the men, but is for the whole church. The Great Commission is to make disciples wherever we go. Our mission statement says we love to tell the story of Jesus and make disciples. This is an area we hope to grow in this year and next. So put it in your diary and come and see what 3DM is all about!
We also have our Carboot Sale on the 27th. Please can you help us advertise this. We need more sellers to make it attractive. But we also need buyers to come and make it worthwhile for the sellers. We are hoping to raise funds for the Food Pantry and Décor teams to help us Restore and Improve the Church facilities. I am sure you will agree that we have great facilities. Given to us by the previous generation who sacrificed to make sure we got it totally debt free. Now what are we going to do with it? Are we going to keep it in good condition and even make it better? What are we going to pass on to the next generation? Help us make this a success!
The Cross family, including Granny Mac, will be away from the 18th to the 26th July to attend Alanna’s wedding. Please pray for us as we travel and also for the wedding. May we boldly proclaim what true marriage is according to God’s Word. Pray it will be a wonderfully joyous time as well.
We also have our Church Ordinary General Meeting on Sunday 28th July. All members are expected to attend, and we welcome anyone who is a Northsider to attend as well. Come and hear about what God is doing in and through us.
I am giving you a month’s notice – our Annual Harvest Service is on Sunday 4th August. Please start saving towards this. If you have children, start talking to them and including them in what you will bring as a family. Everything that is given in cash and kind will be given away to our ministries and missions. May we give generously and cheerfully so that God will be glorified, and Jesus made known.
We are on the home stretch now with our preaching series from the book of Acts. 6 down and 4 to go. How have you enjoyed the series? We would love to hear from you. How has God impacted your life through the preaching of His Word? Are you aware that we post a midweek devotion every week on Wednesday at 7pm on YouTube and Facebook? In this devotion our elders look at the passage we studied on Sunday and go deeper, or look at something that was not in the sermon or talk more about applying God’s Word to our lives. If you have not, why not check it out this week.
God bless, Pastor Gary
