Faithfulness

Faithfulness

Dear Northside

This week I want to talk about Faithfulness.

Faithfulness is not flashy, but it is powerful. In a world that often celebrates talent, platform, position, speed, and image, faithfulness can seem ordinary. But heaven notices faithfulness. Families are strengthened by faithfulness. Ministries are built through faithfulness. Legacies are carried by people who keep showing up.

Faithfulness means being reliable because God is reliable. It means keeping your word, honouring your commitments, staying rooted, and doing the right thing over time. It is not perfection. Faithful people still stumble. The difference is they return, repent, repair, and keep walking with God.

We can help others develop faithfulness by reminding them who they are becoming. Instead of saying, ‘You need to be more responsible,’ you can say, ‘I believe God is growing faithfulness in you. I see your desire to be dependable. Keep going.’ That kind of statement does not excuse irresponsibility. It gives someone a vision for maturity.

Many people quit because they believe one failure has disqualified them. They miss one day, make one mistake, break one promise, or fall into an old pattern, and they assume the story is over. Blessing tells a truer story. It says, ‘Get back up. God is not done. Faithfulness is built one obedient step at a time.’

Faithfulness also has generational power. When a parent blesses a child, when a grandparent speaks identity, when a mentor stays present, when a coach invests beyond performance, they are modelling faithfulness. They are saying with their life, ‘You are worth staying for.’

Do not underestimate the ministry of showing up. The world has plenty of impressive people. What it needs are faithful people. People who keep loving, keep praying, keep serving, keep giving generously, keep speaking life, and keep pointing others back to Jesus.

So, today, bless someone with faithfulness. Remind them that consistency matters. Remind them that small obedient steps count. Remind them that God is faithful, and by His Spirit, faithfulness can grow in them too.

Reflection Question

Where is God asking you to keep showing up, even if the results are not immediate?

Spoken Blessing

May God grow faithfulness in you. May you keep your word, honour your calling, and trust that steady obedience creates lasting legacy.

This has been an interesting week. The weather has been confused. October started dark and cold and wet. But the rain was a real blessing. We also witnessed the passing of a prominent businessman, his wife and 4 others in a helicopter crash. We do not celebrate the death of anyone! It is a reminder to us all, that we cannot escape death and then judgement before God, no matter who we are. You cannot mock God. We all need to be ready to meet God. Are you following Jesus, trying to become like Him? Are you living a life that is pleasing to God?

We are always available to talk and walk with you through these things if you contact us!

God bless, Pastor Gary
