Dear Northside
We have had 2 very good sermons to start our year. We do not prime any of our preachers. We simply ask them to bring what they feel God is saying to His church. I think God has been speaking through these 2 faithful men.
God has plans for us, plans for us to flourish. He has planted us here in this place at this time for a purpose. Settle down, plant gardens, work hard, grow strong families, and seek the peace and prosperity of Harare. Let’s be a church that does these things.
And God has a Global Vision. That all may not perish but have eternal life. I saw an article this week asking, “Is your church lying?” It says most churches have evangelism as part of their vision and mission. Here at Northside, we say we love to tell the story of Jesus and we love to make disciples/followers of Christ. Do we? Tariku challenged us last Sunday to be part of God’s Global Vision (GGV). What are you doing to be part of GGV? We asked you to do something this past week. It did not have to be big or spectacular. One small, achievable thing you could do this past week. Did you do it? How did it go? We would love to hear your feedback. How can we help you in this area? We would love to celebrate and rejoice with you if it happened and God stepped in.
We are hoping to put in place a pathway to missions here at Northside. Do you think God is calling you to missions? Why not come and chat with us and let us walk with you on this journey? Wouldn’t it be great if Northside sent a few missionaries to unreached people groups in other parts of the world?
Thank you to those of you who prayed for our Elders Retreat and Church Council Retreat. As leaders of God’s church here at Northside, the elders and their wives, senior staff and deacons take time to seek God’s face for His church here at Northside. What is God saying to us? What does He want us to focus on this year? And how do we implement this? What does God want us to do and How will we do it? Dr John Maxwell says everything rises and falls on leadership. In other words, leadership is important. Please continue to pray for all our church leaders. And do not forget everyone involved in leading our 50-60 ministries and missions. I thank God for all our leaders!
We have a definite pathway into leadership and it starts with getting involved and committing to a ministry or mission. Are you serving? Do you know where God wants you to serve? What is God saying to you for 2025, what does He want you to do for Him? Our purpose statement is to know and glorify God. Want to know how to do that? Through Service!
God bless, Pastor Gary.
