Welcome Ministry
MISSION STATEMENT
Welcoming every person like Jesus would
ACTIVITIES
At Northside Community Church, our Welcome Ministry exists to extend the open arms of Christ to every person who walks through our doors. We are committed to creating a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and embraced—no matter their background or journey. Through genuine connection, intentional hospitality, and a spirit of grace, we seek to reflect God’s love and ensure that every individual knows they belong in this community of faith.
The Welcome Ministry is all about hospitality in action. From the moment someone arrives at Northside, we want them to feel seen, appreciated, and embraced. Our team creates that first impression—one filled with warmth, kindness, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Whether you’re greeting people at the door, handing out invite cards with a cheerful smile, or personally welcoming newcomers during the service, each role is an opportunity to reflect the love of Jesus in simple but meaningful ways. After the service, we extend that welcome even further by serving teas and creating space for conversations that spark connection and community.
Newcomers are also invited to special gatherings with our pastors—held once or twice a year—where they can get to know the heart and vision of Northside Community Church.
If you’ve got a friendly spirit and a heart for hospitality, there’s a place for you in this ministry. Because at Northside, welcome isn’t just a greeting—it’s a calling.

ACHIEVEMENTS
On average, we have a total of 350 people, children included, attending our Sunday service.
We average four newcomers every week. We are excited by the growth and opportunity to minister to everyone who comes in the door.
How to Get Involved
To get involved, simply reach out to a Welcome Ministry team member, contact the church office, grab an invite card to share with someone, or start by saying a friendly hello to the person next to you in the service—every small gesture opens the door to belonging.
Testimonies
Serving on the welcome team has been one of the most fulfilling and eye-opening experiences of my spiritual journey. I can’t even remember when I started serving in this ministry. What may seem like a simple “hello” or a warm smile every Sunday morning has actually been a powerful way for me to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Each Sunday, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life—some visiting church for the very first time, others returning after a long time away, and many faithful members who just need a friendly face to remind them they belong. I’ve come to see how something as small as a greeting can set the tone for someone’s entire church experience. It’s not about a duty; it’s about creating a space where people feel seen, valued, and loved before they even step into the sanctuary. I have grown to know most people by their names because of my serving in this ministry.
Personally, I’ve grown in my sense of worship. Being part of the welcome team has deepened my understanding of service. It’s taught me to be more attentive to people’s unspoken needs and to always be available to share kindness—whether it’s through a conversation, or simply remembering someone’s name.
More than anything, it has reminded me that every role in the church matters. Whether big or small, visible or behind-the-scenes, when we serve with love and intention, God uses it in ways we can’t always see.
I’m grateful for the privilege to serve and to be part of what God is doing through our church community—one smile at a time.
Pastor/ Deacon Comment
The welcome team gives the first impression to a visitor; how they are welcomed can make them stay in church forever. You could be the one person who can change someone’s life. Those who are in the welcome team are not doing a duty; they are serving. They have been called to serve. Where are you called to serve? I have seen people grow in their faith by joining this ministry.
