Crèche
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to partner with families in raising a generation that knows, loves, and trusts God from their earliest years.
ACTIVITIES
The crèche ministry serves as a warm and welcoming space for infants and toddlers during the Northside Community Church service on Sundays from 9 – 10:30 AM. We ensure they experience God’s love in a way that suits their young hearts and minds.
Care and Supervision:
Our team provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where little ones feel comfortable and secure. With dedicated caregivers, children receive individualised attention and care, allowing parents to participate in the service with peace of mind. Activities include gentle play, comforting interactions, and age-appropriate engagement that encourage joy and security.
Simple Bible Stories & Memory Verse:
Each week, children are introduced to engaging, age-appropriate Bible stories that align with the main church teaching. These stories are presented using visual aids, storytelling techniques, and interactive activities to make biblical lessons come alive for young minds. The ministry also introduces a simple memory verse using repetition, actions, and visuals to help children retain and understand God’s word in a way that resonates with them.
Praise & Worship:
Music and movement are central to crèche worship. Children participate in joyful praise sessions, singing familiar songs accompanied by simple instruments like tambourines, maracas, and handbells. Worship is kept interactive, with hand motions, dancing, and clapping to engage their young hearts in celebrating God’s love.
Prayer:
Prayer time is designed to be short, simple, and meaningful, ensuring that children can grasp its importance. Caregivers lead interactive prayers using short sentences, call-and-response formats, and moments of personal reflection. Whether thanking God for family, friends, or the sunshine, prayer time instils a habit of turning to God with gratitude and trust.
Livestream Facility:
Parents with young children and nursing mothers are warmly invited to use the cry room, a comfortable space designed to meet your needs. The church service is livestreamed, ensuring you can fully engage in the sermon and worship while caring for your little one.
ACTIVITIES
We have an average of 15 children each week
The creche ministry relies on four teams of trained and dedicated volunteers. You can get involved.
Testimony
It has been a great privilege to serve in the Creche Ministry, looking after the toddlers, those under the age 4 years. I got involved with the Creche Ministry in 2010. It has been fulfilling and joyful, to interact and at the same time, teach the little ones the Word of God, at their level of understanding. Ever since, I have never looked back! (Josephine)
Volunteering at the creche Ministry has helped me serve within the church whilst also having a feel of the lessons taught to my children. It has helped me feel like a part of NCC as i get to know the younger children by name and eventually get to know their parents. It is such a satisfying feeling to know and watch the children and how they grow and mature physically as well as in their spiritual journeys. In most cases parents decide to choose NCC as their home because of the children. Having once been part of the creche, now all my kids are also serving at the creche once a month. (Wadzanai)
Deacon Comment
We give thanks for the joy and growth we see in our youngest children at the Creche, a sign of a new generation rising in the church. As we celebrate the moms and volunteers who serve faithfully, we pray for more hands to join and invite support for a toy run to keep this space vibrant and exciting for our little ones.
OUR TEAM

How to get involved
Getting involved in the Creche is a beautiful way to invest in the next generation of our church. By signing up through the church office, you can join a rotating group of volunteers who serve once a month—playing games, singing songs, teaching simple Bible lessons, and sharing joy with children under four years old. Beyond volunteering, you can also support by donating toys and resources to keep the space lively and engaging. Every act of service helps nurture these little ones and strengthens the community that surrounds them.
