Seniors Coffee Club

MISSION STATEMENT

The Coffee Club strives to facilitate fellowship of the Gospel to the elderly, those greater than 65 years of age.

ACTIVITIES

Once a month, on the last Wednesday, something quite special happens at our church—doors open wide to welcome elders from across Harare for a gentle celebration of life and community. The Seniors Coffee Club isn’t just an outing—it’s a cherished time of connection, joy, and reflection.

There is always space open for anyone aged 65 and above—the church fills with laughter, conversation, and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The hall transforms into a cosy haven where elders are invited to simply be themselves, surrounded by caring company.

Each meeting is thoughtfully curated to stir both mind and spirit. Light-hearted games spark playfulness and camaraderie, while devotions offer grounding encouragement and a sense of purpose. It’s a place where memories are shared, wisdom is honoured, and smiles come easily.

Whether it’s their first visit or their tenth, every senior leaves knowing they are loved, valued, and never forgotten.

Testimonies

I pick up 3 people from an old age home, they are so happy to come to the coffee club, it keeps me going.

My one outing a month, and I would not miss it.

PASTOR/DEACON COMMENT

Many years ago, an elderly couple (Ed and Carole Dickinson) who had been involved in ministry at Northside felt God asking them to start a ministry to the Elderly in our Community. We had a small number of elderly people in the church at the time, and we wanted to minister to them, but the main thrust of the ministry was to elderly (senior citizens) outside the church in our community. I love the fact that we have elderly people ministering to their peers. This ministry has grown over the years. For many people, it is the one time they get out of their homes and meet other people like them. We provide an amazing tea and eats experience as well as great fun and fellowship. So often, our society ignores the elderly in our communities. We put them in homes and forget about them. We are Africans, and we know the importance of the elderly. As a church, we are called to minister to them because they have value. And we always say, God still has something for them to do. They are still here for a purpose. Pastor Gary
